Liang (Leon) Xia, M.D., Ph.D.
Liang joined Polaris Pharmaceuticals in 2003 since the initial establishment of the Vacaville site. He has been leading the technology transfer, process development/scale-up, and continuous process improvement. Serving as a member of the site management team to plan and coordinate the inter-department activities, he participates in the execution of production strategies and oversees the operation schedules for cGMP manufacturing, in support of the multiple ongoing clinical trials.
Prior to joining Polaris, Liang had been engaging in various medical research projects on human diseases for over 15 years.
Liang holds an M.D. from the Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University (formerly the independent Shanghai Medical University), and a Ph.D. in molecular biology and microbiology from the Case Western Reserve University Biomedical Science Training Program. He completed his postdoctoral training at the UC Davis Cancer Center.
