Chief Intellectual Property Officer/Chief Information Security Officer

Dr. Kevin Wu holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences from National Tsing Hua University and a Master’s degree in Technology Law from Soochow University in Taiwan, with a strong interdisciplinary background in biotechnology and law. He has over 20 years of practical experience in intellectual property and information security. At Polaris Group, he is responsible for global IP portfolio strategy, information security strategic planning, and the development of trade secret protection systems. He also leads the legal department, overseeing legal and contractual matters related to corporate operations.

Dr. Wu was previously the co-founder of a prominent IP law firm in Taiwan and held a director-level position at Deloitte Legal, part of the Deloitte Group. He also served as Secretary-General of the IP Asset Management Association, an IP advisor to the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and to the Incubation Center of the National Health Research Institutes.

Over the years, Dr. Wu has worked across industries on more than 1,000 projects involving global patent portfolio development, patent prosecution, patent searches and landscaping, technology investment, IP due diligence in international M&A, patent litigation, and intangible asset valuation. His expertise spans biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, mechanical engineering, and electronics.

Dr. Wu is a certified lecturer of the TIPS (Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System) compliance and governance, accredited by the Industrial Development Administration of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as a certified ISO 27001 Lead Auditor. He has assisted more than ten listed companies in Taiwan in implementing TIPS-based IP and trade secret management systems, achieving certifications at the A, AA, and AAA levels. Dr. Wu is a frequent speaker across industry, government, and academia. He has delivered over 200 lectures on topics related to IP strategy and management. In 2021, he was invited by the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office to speak at the official World Intellectual Property Day conference on the topic: “Global IP Strategies for SMEs.”
